All your travel expenses can be exempted from your taxable income by showing them as business travel expenses. Generally travelling by plane especially to foreign countries is very expensive, and an exemption on them will really help to save a lot of tax.
Travel expenses can be called for as business expenses spent on business tours. You can take these deductions especially if you meet these two conditions:
(1)Your duties require you to be away from the general area of your "tax home" substantially longer than an ordinary day's work.
That is, You should remain in the place where you are showing you had gone too for business purposes, longer than you normally stay in your Company's office.
(2) You need to get sleep or rest to meet the demands of your work while away from home.
For example: Suppose you want to go to a country, say in Europe as a holiday. Then, if you are able to show that during your visit to Europe, you had done some useful work for your company or business, or show that it was a business trip, then those expenses will get exempted from being taxed, or get some deductions on tax.
Similarly other entertainment activities can be shown as business activities and you can save tax on them. Example: Suppose you are a reporter, and you want to go to a country to see a Football match. Then you can show that your trip to the country was for the purpose of reporting the soccer match, and interview the players, and hence get deductions from tax on your expenses.
This method is a very useful method of saving tax, even when one is on a holiday.
